Foster Care Program

Our foster care program is the cornerstone of our rescue efforts. We will provide all food, litter, supplies and support that is  needed to successfully foster an animal until they find an adoptive family.  By opening your home temporarily to a cat or kitten, you provide them with the nurturing environment they need to thrive until they find a permanent family.

Get Involved

We are always looking for volunteers.  Whether you wish to make a financial donation, volunteer your time (transport, fundraising, community outreach and events), or spread the word, there are many ways to get involved with Whiskers and Purrs Rescue. Your support can make a world of difference to our furry companions in need.

Frequently asked questions

How can I adopt a cat?

First step is to visit our Available Cats and Kitten page to see available cats.  Be sure fill out an Adoption Application.  Our Adoption Coordinator will contact you, ususally in 24-28 hours. All potential adopters are required to fill out the application.  This application will be kept on file with us, so once you are approved you don't have to reapply to adopt in the future.

What does fostering entail?

Fostering is the temporary care of a cat in your home until they are adopted. This means that we will place an animal(s) in your home to live with you.   We provide all the supplies needed; Food, litter, litter boxes and scoops, medications and veterinarian visits (if necessary). You provide love, care, interaction and socialization to an animal in need.  This is a great family activity that teaches children compassion, empathy, responsibility, and is a lot of fun.

How can I help if I can't adopt or foster?

There are many ways to help besides fostering. We always need supplies, especially canned kitten food, dry kitten food and clumping litter.   Our Amazon, Walmart and Chewy wishlists are linked under the Information tab.  We occassionally need help with transporting to and from Spay/Neuter clinics and Rabies clinics.  We always need help with our fundraising events. You can organize a fundraiser or supply drive for us.  Monetary donations are always welcome. Our Venmo is linked under the Information tab. We strive to get most out of every dollar we receive.

Whiskers and Purrs Rescue changed my life and the life of the kitten I adopted. Their dedication and love for these animals are truly inspiring.
