Whiskers and Purrs Rescue is a new cat rescue organization founded in the fall of 2023. This female run organization is based out of the Finger Lakes in Ontario county.  WAPR is focused on the rescue, fostering, and adoption of the local feline population.  we are also concentrating on educating the public on feline health, safety and needs of the local cat population. We are a completely volunteer organization which primarily runs on donations of food, litter, medications, vaccines and all other supplies from our community as well as community outreach and, most importantly, fundraising.  Most of our foster and volunteers have years of experience fostering and owning cats of all ages.

      There is no physical base for WAPR. All fostering is done by our fosters, in their private homes, so the cats and kittens are extremely socialized.  Many live with children, dogs and other cats. In-home fostering allows us to gauge the personality and behavioral traits of every animal allowing us to find the perfect home for every cat and kitten in our rescue. Every cat and kitten will be spayed/neutered, vetted, vaccinated for distemper and rabies, combo tested and microchipped when going to their Furr-ever home.

We are a fully recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit and registered with the NYS Charities Bureau and the NYS Department of Agriculture.  We will gladly accept donations of supplies or monetary donations.  All contributions are tax deductible.  Physical donations can be picked up or dropped off at K'Bella Salon (161 S Main St, Canandaigua).

      Fosters and volunteers are always needed and welcome.
